February Caption Contest Winner
1627 captions were submitted in February; at least 1500 of them were some variation on the “suck” theme. Many were funny. But in order to narrow the field I decided to eliminate any caption with the actual word “suck”… although captions on the theme of sucking, both in its “objectionable or inadequate” sense and in its “draw as if by suction” sense, are well-represented in the finalists.
In the “objectionable or inadequate” category, this winning caption from Shanna Edwards (which, by the way, captured almost 40% of the vote!) is a perfect example of what it means to be a true Taintorette. She manages to express profound disappointment while remaining ladylike and sweet as sugar! No four-letter-words out of this Taintorette’s mouth! Very well done, Shanna!
February Finalists
Out of more than 1600 captions submitted in February I’ve chosen five hilarious finalists. Vote for your favorite by midnight Monday March 5th!
January Caption Contest Winner
A lot of you submitted variations on the “carpet and drapes” theme… but Marisa Hines was first, Marisa worded her caption with charming simplicity … and Marisa won! Congratulations, Marisa!

New Studies Indicate: Men Are Funny!
I love this caption, Tim! So do a whole lot of other people.
Congratulations on winning the December caption contest and on proving to the few remaining skeptics among us that men are indeed funny! I believe that Tim Prochnow is the first male caption contest winner since Marc Bouchard co-won in June 2010. Tim, by the way, was a finalist two months ago with his hilarious “please, dear… stop pretending you understand derivatives.” Keep it coming, Tim!
