Christmas & Frostbite
Hi Everyone, this is Hannah from the ATI Brooklyn office. The other day I mentioned on Facebook how much Anne loves Christmas, particularly tinsel, colored lights and Frostbite cocktails…here is the picture to prove it! This is Anne & Bob enjoying a Frostbite in front of the tree last night. And yes, this cocktail is featured in Anne’s book – recipe below! Happy Holidays!

Frostbite:
- 1 ounce tequila
- 1 ounce heavy cream
- 1 ounce white creme de cacao
- 1/2 ounce white creme de menthe
- ice cubes
- cocoa powder for garnish
Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Sprinkle with cocoa powder for garnish.
A very funny lady
You’ve seen this name before. She was a finalist in March, May, and June, and she was the winner of the January caption contest this year (and the July contest last year). She is one very funny lady. And she’s the winner again in September with this cutting caption:
Congratulations, Ellen Mcdonald… again! And thank you!
I’d like to take this opportunity to point out that many people (most of them women) have complained that I’m “mean” about men. Some think I actually don’t like men (???) But… if my husband Nathan were trying on hats, and I said “it depends… are you going for gay or straight?” he would bust a gut laughing. I guess I like men with a sense of humor… and without a whole lot of ego issues.
It’s happy hour at last!

It was a lot of work.
A lot of work and countless cocktails.
But several months and many, many many bottles later my long-awaited (by me, anyway) cocktail recipe book, published by Chronicle Books, is finally available in our web store and in fine gift and book stores everywhere!
This summer’s favorite chez Taintor has been El Presidente. But as the evenings cool (which they are already doing here in Maine, by the way) I’ll be shaking up more Merry Widows, Peckerheads, and Brazen Hussies. I wish I could invite every one of you over for cocktails!
The Pickleback
If you haven’t visited the new products page on our web store in a while, go there right now! Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day giving, we’ve added 3 fun new flasks and 2 fabulous new coaster sets.
And if you think the festivities may leave you with a bit of a hangover, you might also want to pick up a few sets of St-Patrick’s-Day-green shot glasses.
You’ll need them when you pour yourself The Pickleback! Dill pickle juice, which is full of antioxidants, healing salts, and minerals, has long been used in Poland as a cure for the common hangover. The Bushwick Country Club (in lovely Brooklyn!) christened this surprisingly delicious combo, using Old Crow bourbon and McClure’s dill pickle juice. In honor of the day, I suggest you make a small substitution:
The St. Patrick’s Day Pickleback
- 1 shot Jameson’s Irish Whiskey
- 1 shot good quality dill pickle juice (I like Bubbie’s)
Drink the Jameson’s. Now drink the pickle juice. Yum!
