bite me
About the captions
Anne Says: “A very sweet former employee, who shall remain nameless, had her bad days just like everyone else. On those days, she would often deftly navigate a tricky phone negotiation, then hang up the phone and say “oh, bite me, bite me, bite me!” I made this little collage in her honor.”
Today is Administrative Professionals Day and we’d like to take a moment to celebrate all the hard-working folks who refrain from saying “bite me” to us on the phone. Here at the Anne Taintor, Inc. Brooklyn office we’re blessed with a team of Admins so professional and customers so delightful that most days nobody wants to bite anyone. Thanks, guys & gals.
But seriously, we all have the other kind of days sometimes too, and humor, sarcasm & ridicule are all great tactics for stress management. You need this magnet for your filing cabinet at work AND for your fridge at home…trust me you’ll thank us each time you remember to hang up before spewing obscenities.
Meat Packing
Clearly meat packing is unlike any other kind of packing, because I can tell you for sure that everything else takes up way MORE space when it’s packed. (Guess how many boxes we now have in the garage? The mover arrives in one week minus five hours.) That makes Alice Cade’s winning caption extra specially funny to me.
Congratulations, Alice!!!
July caption contest winners
What does one do when one is all alone in the desert and one’s internet connection is down? First, I go for a long walk. But the internet has been down for a really, really long time, so I’ve taken the opportunity to cut and paste and scan NINE of my favorite caption submissions from July. When, if ever, the internet is back up, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
The winner, offering incontrovertible proof that we create our own realities, is Ellen Mcdonald:

Congratulations, Ellen!
(Before I share my other July favorites I want to disclose that I tweaked a caption here and there. Nothing much… a word here, an ellipsis there… and no disrespect intended to the writers. I believe I was born to be an editor; I just can’t help myself.)
